What can I expect as a Sunday morning visitor?
What time are your services?
- 9:30 a.m. - Bible Classes (Sunday School) for all ages
- 10:30 a.m. - Refreshments in the Fellowship Hall downstairs.
- 11:00 a.m. - Worship Service
What should I wear?
Our services are traditional but informal. Dress up or come casual. You will find a warm welcome and someone in similar attire either way. Will I be met at the door?
When you come into our lobby, an usher will greet you, give you a Visitor Packet, and be available to answer any questions you have. Attached to the Visitor Packet is a card that we hope you'll fill out. Please leave the card in your seat as you leave or give it to an usher. Keep the packet so you can read more about our church.
What's a service like?
We use a printed bulletin, which outlines our service and will let you know what to expect. The following is a general description of our weekly service: We begin with announcements followed by a Call to Worship and an opening hymn. We might have the Lord's Supper or a special reading or time of prayer. As part of our worship, we take an offering as a way of recognizing that we owe all that we have to God and to His grace. The pastor will then preach a message from God's Word, and we will close with a hymn and prayer.
How do I get there?
Parking: We have a few spaces in front of our building on West Braddock Road, but we have ample parking behind our building.
Public Transportation: We are approximately one mile west of the King Street Metro stop, and we have a Metrobus stop right in front of the building.
Do you have handicapped access?
Handicapped parking spaces are located in the parking lot behind our building. We are working on providing handicap access, but currently access to our building is only by stairs
What about the children?
Children are always welcome. We have child-care or classes for children under five. Older children are invited to stay with their parents in the sanctuary during our main worship service. (see Family Worship page)
What happens after the service?
After our service, we like to greet our visitors and catch up with one another. On the first Sunday of each month we often have a luncheon. Please feel free to join us. Check out our calendar for more information.
